Windward Vineyard

Windward Vineyards is dedicated exclusively to the production of Estate bottled Pinot Noir in the French burgundian Style. The vineyard was planted in 1990 on the Westside of Paso Robles Appellation, where the cooling afternoon winds blow in through the Templeton Gap and allow the Pinot Noir grapes to develop the acid and sugar balances that would be possible in other parts of the appellation. Windward Vineyards award winning Pinot Noir Wines are testimony to the ability of Paso Robles to grow stunning, world class Pinot Noirs. Marc Goldberg and Maggie D'Ambrosia intend to “stay the course” and will continue to produce only one wine varietal. Since the release of their ’93 vintage, there has been a 16-fold increase in Pinot Noir plantings on the Westside of Paso Robles AVA. This shows continuing recognition that the unique soil structure and microclimate of the Westside is ideal for growing Pinot Noir.
