L'Aventure

Stephan Asseo, the owner and winemaker of Stephan Vineyards left Bordeaux after making wine there for 15 years because he had grown tired of regulations dictating grape varieties and production techniques. After comparing land in Napa and Sonoma, he chose a rocky, 126-acre sight on the West side of Paso Robles. With only four harvests under his belt, he's already proving the regions potential for making Bordeaux and Rhone inspired varietals. Many of his wines have scored 95+ points from both Robert Parker and the Wine Spectator.
