Osseus
Eric Mohseni founded Osseus Winery with the desire to produce wine in the style of old-school winemakers: one wine-maker, with minimal intervention, allowing the gradual and natural evolution of the fruit into a wine of true flavor and distinction. With a career that includes enology and wine making positions for Zaca Mesa and Edna Valley, Mohseni has traveled throughout some of the world's richest wine producing countries and met with the industry's most influential winemakers, including importer Kermit Lynch, Louis Martini and Antonio Gaja, in the singular pursuit of exceptional, artisan-style wine making. "The interaction with these world-class producers really steered me onto a path to follow in their footsteps and uphold what I consider a true winemaking art form," Mohseni said. He was also approached with an opportunity to travel to Hawkes Bay, New Zealand, to serve as a member of the harvest crew of Esk Valley Estate, the country's fifth largest vineyard. "Esk Valley has a terrific reputation and a certain style about their wine making. The whole harvest experience opened my eyes and deepened my perspective on sauvignon blanc. Not just the wine's distinctive, penetrating aroma, pure expression and its magical versatility, but the whole beauty of old school winemaking."
